Location - Santiago Hills, located in Orange, California near the exclusive communities of Cowan Heights and Lemon Heights, is a highly-desirable location to buy a home. James Irvine purchased land in the Santiago Hills area in 1876 and added it to the Irvine Ranch.
Neighborhood Information - In late 2005, the Orange City Council approved the Santiago Hills II and East Orange Development project. Construction of 1,596 homes, ranging from traditional single-family homes to condominiums are in the works.
Open space features include preservation of a knoll that adjoins Chapman Avenue and Santiago Canyon Road, habitat preservation and the preservation of certain open space areas near Irvine park. Two neighborhood parks will also be constructed and a system of paved and unpaved trails will connect to the new developments.
